About

A scientist who never stopped measuring.

Twenty-eight years across biotechnology, analytics, and consumer technology — bound together by one interdisciplinary conviction: what gets measured well can be improved.

Aspen, Colorado

Thoryn Stephens is a Colorado-based molecular biologist turned data scientist. He launched his career in the lab, working on drug development for cardiovascular and infectious disease, before spending two decades at the intersection of data science, digital innovation, and consumer behavior.

That path — biotech to analytics to product — was never a series of pivots so much as a single throughline. Combining knowledge across fields, he has said, is where the useful solutions live. Measurement and optimization travelled with him from cell assays to media audiences to human physiology.

A lifelong advocate of human optimization, he holds himself to the same standard he builds for. Based in Aspen, he skis more than 100 days a year and trains competitively for triathlons — a live experiment in the protocols his company studies.
